Level Contributor“” via mobileThis was my second visit to the Bear inn for a Sunday Carvery and yet again it was excellent!! The variety of meat and fresh vegetables is great, the staff are very friendly and attentive and I can't wait to go again! Would highly recommend to anyone, definitely the best carvery in Derbyshire and excellent value for money. Level Contributor“” via mobilePlanned visit with hubby and his family for Sunday lunch treat. It was packed to the rafters. A very popular place unsurprisingly. The car very is fabulous. You won't get better. Remember to book a table tho or you'll be disappointed.1Thank 0798anne Level Contributor“” via mobileWe visited The Bear as a halfway point of a walk. They had landlord and Jaipur on tap which was more than adequate for us! Landlord was poured out of a jug too which is really quirky and arguably how it should be poured! Food was great for pub food with big portions! The character of the place is fantastic...there...
Level Contributor“” We walked here from a nearby rented cottage. I think you appreciate a pub so much more if you have walked there. They had Jaipur IPA from Thornbridge Brewery, which was excellent. We chose food from the specials board, Burgers, small fish and chips and a gammon. The views from the rear of the pub towards Derbyshire... “” via mobileFood was excellent. Staff were extremely well organised and attentive and lovely and friendly. Location was country pub with great views. I would definitely recommend if you want to go out to a place where there is atmosphere. Level Contributor“” via mobileWow.... Visited here today and was very impressed for someone who doesn't like carvery . Five meats all cooked to perfection and lots of quality sides too. Decent pint of bass and reasonably priced too.1Thank Chapo1973 Level Contributor“” via mobileYes the older part of the pub is olde worlde but for me that adds to the charm - it has been there for hundreds of years at the end of the day.
The service wasn't the best but it was fine and good enough. The carvery though was the best I've ever had. I have never seen a meat... Level Contributor“” A four mile trip took an age, because the place doesn't exist in Sat-Nav world. However, that and a slightly anarchic food ordering system shouldn't put you off sampling this delight! Chef offers joints cooked rare, medium and well-done. A little shy of £14:00 for a three course meal! alvine orter curtainsWill return!1Thank pete jbryce sheer grommet window curtain panel “” via mobileWe arrived late after visiting the Midlands railway (yawn) but son and hubby loved it. eclipse thermaback curtains smell
Staff really friendly and accommodated us on another table. The carvery is impressive, biggest ribs of beef I've ever seen, Turkey, lamb and gammon. Good roasties and Yorkshires and good selection of vegetables. Very busy and clearly popular with the locals. Delicious and huge portion...
