mainstays red sedona curtains

The dimension on the package isn't what it really is. I measured my windows prior and the curtains are shorter and less wide. The fabric is thin, so I don't expect it to darken a room. You get what you paid for!! What I love about this product most is the 54" length rather than standard 60-63". It's harder for me to come across 54" length curtains to fit my inner bay window's windows. I was recently doing some renovation in my horror themed bedroom, ((don't mind the wall paper being sealed in-picture and stand-in curtain tiebacks.)), and these fit perfectly! In the picture provided, the main blind is pulled down, and the two side windows have their blinds open. These IMMEDIATELY darken a room! I went from an overwhelmingly blinding room, to needing to turn a light on at 12-2 pm. That wasn't my intention, actually, but if you're looking for a room darkening curtain, this is it! Great that they offer two different lengths. I would definitely recommend them. I picked up enough to decorate the room and within seconds they're perfect!
I'd recommend throwing them in the dryer with a wet towel for maybe 20 minutes on the de-wrinkle setting to remove the packing creases. I bought these curtains for all of my windows, single panels, just to ease off the light and heat coming in through the windows over summer. If a customer is looking for a privacy curtain only, these aren't the ones for them. I do have blinds on all of my windows and with the blinds down and the curtains in place, the house does stay cooler and allows the AC to work more efficiently. I have several windows that get the full sun effect and these panels do darken the room considerably, even if the blinds are up behind them. I will say that I have tested the theory of being able to see through them from the outside when the light is on in the room. Again, these are not privacy curtains and if something is in the room or in front of the window, you will see a shadow, almost like what you will see in a tent, but you can't "see" the room/person in full view.
All of the room darkening curtains I have bought before and looked at recently had a white lining that either insulated or helped to keep light out. made to measure curtains letchworthMy husband is hanging these now and the first thing I noticed is that you can see through the panels! lcfc curtainsClosed they do make the room darker and I assume at night will also. hoad curtains australiaMy concern is that when my daughter is changing at night and has her room light on someone could see through the curtains. hookless shower curtain clawfoot tubHer windows are 34 wide and the 2 panels on each are 52 wide so there is plenty of gathering. black curtains tekstowo
So I guess that the fact they do not have a white lining is my big issue. devon curtains bovey traceyThe price of these per panel comes to more than the ones that are lined. custom made curtains benoniI'm not returning them but I may have to buy new blinds for under these. I bought both the solid black as well as the red and white patterned 2 packs of these room darkening panels. The curtain themselves look nice in my windows, however I had hoped that they would have been thicker, since they don't do much more than a regular curtain. -Make the room darker, but does NOT completely block out the light -Lays nicely without weights -Doesn't block out as much light as I would have hoped. I honestly feel like buying regular curtains would have achieved the same look. Despite my lack of satisfaction with the amount of light that I can still see with the curtains drawn, I simply plan to use my sewing skills to add some batting and blackout liner to them so they can become more energy efficient and completely block out light.
They keep out the light just right , (not complete black out) and they look good. They come in a variety of sizes do we found a great fit with no need to hem. if you actually want room darkening curtains, don't buy these. I bought two panels of the Red Sedona color in 63" length. The bottom of the packaging even said THERMAL. And as for the 63" length, one of them was 63", the other was closer to 61 1/2 inches. The fabric is nice and the curtains look nice, however, I purchased them for the room darkening aspect. I know for the money, I should not expect perfection, but to label as room darkening and thermal is just absurd. It says on the back of the packaging that it blocks out 98% of the sun. Well that's only happening if I paint the glass black. The panels were for my grandsons bedroom so I didn't need to spend a lot of money. I just wanted the room darkening. We have had ours for 3 years, and really no complaints. I do agree with other reviews that they are thinner than blackout curtains.
If you are looking for a black, completely dark room, you aren't going to get it. However they aren't sold as blackout curtains either, but DARKENING curtains. They do that well. They take my room with huge windows that is very bright, to the sun just rising brightening level and I'm okay with that. They are also great at keeping the heat level down. The material honestly still looks like new.It does darken the room. However, it isn't blue, it's teal. The color wasn't what I expected. They are more green than blue. The price on this is pretty low so I wasn't expecting a "super valance". It is "thin"....but it serves it's purpose which is to blend in with all the blue gray and black in my room. To dress up my guest bath, I used 2 valances and a Mainstays Orb Ball Curtain Rod,. Got just the look I wanted for less than $25!! I ordered the 'blue' valance for my utility room. I have blinds but I needed a simple valance to hang on a nice curtain rod above the window.
I didn't want to pay a lot for just a simple valance for my utility room. This is very nice for the price of less than $7.50. Nothing frilly about it. Decent quality, dresses the window nicely. The window I hung it on is 36" and one valance was more than sufficient as it does hang nicely with some gathering. It has a couple of openings at the top for a very small rod or a larger rod. It also has an opening at the bottom. In other words, you can hang it top or bottom and the top does have two rod openings for a very small rod or for a wider rod. I placed in the second opening at the top so It would have some gathering at the top. Highly recommend to those searching for a low cost, simple valance. just as I expected. The valance worked as described and makes my room look good. Not only is there 1 panel per package - I assumed it contained a pair of panels, but the material is thinner than bed sheet material. I will be returning. easy to iron, and put up This is a perfect valance, with nice quality for the exceptional price.
