My curtains ae light-weight lace, and the drapes and valances are a light-weight silk damask. I think the thermal draperies might be a little heavy, but it's very hard for me to judge without handling the fabric. Many years ago, I installed 4"x3"x2" blocks equally spaced along the wall at the height I was going to install the curtain rod. I then used large L-shaped hooks to give the rods additional support and distribute the weight of the heavier damask draperies I had previously.
