If you’re an outdoorsman who can’t decide whether to go camping or fishing, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.A pair of ingenious tradies from New Zealand’s Waiuku have turned an abandoned caravan into a unique fishing vessel capable of reaching an impressive 28 kilometres an hour.Footage from TVNZ shows mechanic David Burns and welder Mathew Douglas driving to the coast before setting sails on Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf to put their resourceful cruiser to the test. They don’t know what’s going on,’ David admits. The mates took an abandoned caravan from a farm, strapped it to an outboard motor and glued a raft of polystyrene to the base.
But how safe is it?‘We’re probably that a caravan on land’ pledges Mathew. ‘We haven’t got an issue of a puncture.’The pair had previously turned an old Subaru Imprezza into another seafaring convert last year. And it looks as if they plan on keeping their creative seafaring ways afloat.‘It’s about testing yourself, seeing if you can come up with something a bit different,’ David explains. 눇Fantastic service couldn't fault the place at all. 눉I could not fault this accommodation, the owners very obliging.눇We found the accommodation very good, the units were lovely and clean, could not fault them. Each unit was greeted with home made muffins, wonderful...awaiting them in their room. 눇We consisted of 1 couple and 3 other adults. We had a Wedding at Castaways and found this place very convenient in terms of location close to township, Castaways, beach and very affordable. Customer service was super friendly. I called and asked if I could check in early and they cleaned up our room to be ready before 1pm which I was very grateful considering we ended up arriving at 2pm anyway due to helping with wedding activities. Felt bad for all the trouble but yet Anne who works there was understandable and forgiving. We had a 2 bedroom room with living room kitchen and private bathroom. It was very spacious. We all agreed the next morning that the beds were very comfortable.
This room had an oven which was awesome considering most accommodations only have a microwave if lucky this had both. Had electric blankets to keep warm and a fan for my partner who naturally gets hot. Very clean on arrival. Hot cold and warm showers even after the fourth person had a shower. Absolutely loved the muffins on arrival as well. 눇Very friendly welcome, and freshly baked muffins in my room were a nice touch 눉There was a musty smell in the room needs a update all very old눇The Bed was comfortble. Room Very clean The muffins on arrival delicious. 눉No sky TV눇Friendly staff and unit was comfortable although somewhat dated. 눉No hanging space for clothing and as we were attending a wedding we had clothes which needed hanging up. A couple of hooks would suffice.눇lovely helpful hosts with the added bonus of fresh baked muffins on arrival- thankyou 눉Wifi didn't work and the bed sheets had shoe prints on them.눇Lovely staff 눉Shower, a bit old.
