Trekking from Kyaing Tong ... motorbike which the driver was on his way to take it to be repaired & of course no helmet. Only plus side was it was a very small bike going very slowly & no other traffic! Waited for Steve & Anthony by the monastery in the shade watching the young monks making a type of ladder. Walked down to the village which was animist & had spikes around the gate to ward off evil spirits. They live in one ... ... tree & decided that this was an auspicious place to settle so moved their families.

The four villages share one school. On the way to the top of the mountain,popped in to see a small school which had five classes and two teachers-classes were divided by wooden partition-very noisy place to study. Older children were reciting & younger ones being taught about personal hygiene-brushing teeth,washing,combing hair,washing hands etc. as we continued further ... ... of the village & had green tea with his wife. Very large drum & skulls of animals in the house. Ladies wear a type of turban & have large rings in their ears. Three of the children were cutting away at papaya with an enormous knife. Wife was weaving & I bought a scarf from her (5,000kyat) to add to my collection. Carried on climbing up past a school , lots of pigs & chickens. Walked through more ...
