But I have to say, this thing works great! One drawback, as others have mentioned, it is certainly not quiet. Some people have called it loud but I wouldn't go that far. It sounds like a motor. If you're into gadgets, you might even thing it sounds cool. I've read others complain about the service life being limited to only 1-2 years so I suppose time will tell. For now, I'm very happy.My automation setup: I was looking for a solution to incorporate the D80 Motor into my home automation system. Here's what I cam up with. I plugged the motor into a wall outlet which is controlled by a standard wall switch. I then swapped out the standard switch for a WeMo wall switch. I used the WeMo app to program the WeMo wall switch to turn off after 1 minute. This way, the motor has a chance to reset and reverse direction.
