our precious family of three will soon be expanding to four! I love this time of year when the summer styles go on major sale and the Fall fashion is popping up in stores everywhere. It's more like summer temps here for the majority of the year, so I'm always taking advantage of those discounts, but of course, I'm looking forward to the air getting crisper and the day I can bust out my leggings, sweaters and booties! I found a great pair of leggings too (over 1,300 positive reviews and only $36! They will go great with this lightweight tunic or this knit one. I created two cozy Fall outfits below, just after the Summer Sale items. Hope you have a great weekend!! First up, on big time sale is this Halogen Linen Tank for under $10! You can't have too many of these, worn alone or layered under cardigans, jackets, or other tops. Halogen Linen Tank $34, $9.90 (regular & petite, other colors) 43 positive reviews Today is Wardrobe Wednesday and I have one of my favorite things I'm wearing lately to show you- this Free People lace trim tunic.

It's one of those items that I'd been eyeing for months and finally purchased and am so happy I did. You know you really want something when you can't stop thinking about it! And considering all the ways you can wear this tunic (as a dress, swimsuit cover up, or top with jeans or leggings), it's going to transition nicely from summer to fall.

One new idea I'm excited to share with you is a quick and easy way to organize your purses and tote bags. I don't know why I never thought of this earlier, but it finally occurred to me to hang them from the rod on shower hooks so I could easily see them at a glance. Before I organized and hung them, some were hanging on the back of my closet door and others were stuffed into cubbies. I like this way much better! Happy Wardrobe Wednesday friends! Today I'm highlighting one of my favorite, easy-to-wear looks, the wrap dress. Of course, Diane von Furstenburg made these famous back in the day, and they are still as popular as ever! I'm wearing a Maggy London wrap dress here, a brand I wore often especially when I did full-time legal work. I found that brand to be great quality and my pieces lasted for years. Now that I'm a stay-at-home mom, these dresses are perfect for date night, church, or other professional functions. wrap dress (size 0) | white nail polish |

It's probably a combination of school starting again and moving our son, James, from his former room into the larger guest room that has prompted a major purge, organization, and cleaning session over here lately. That, and help from the book I'm reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I'm already a naturally organized person by nature so I wasn't sure this book would make any difference in my life, but it has! I'll share more on that later, but this weekend, I worked on not only three kitchen drawers, the linen closet, the massive amount of books in our house, and the paper clutter. No wonder I'm starting this Monday morning off tired! But, I'm also feeling invigorated because our home already feels lighter! The first step to tidying and organizing is always to remove everything so you can clean the space really well (here that meant wiping down the shelves), and then so you can touch and examine each item to see what stays and what goes.

In the book, the author talks about keeping only things that serve you and give you joy. If you have quiet around you while you're going through this process, you can physically 'hear' and feel how your body reacts to each thing as you hold it in your hand. This makes deciding what to part with much easier. You're shifting the emphasis of your thinking from "what to get rid of" to "what to keep". That was key for me. And I also only wanted to keep what would easily fit inside the closet with room to breathe. grouped things into categories I used these rattan/banana leaf baskets from Target to organize the pillow covers and throw blankets. For more home organization tips, see my ORGANIZE posts here. It's been a busy, emotional week with our son starting kindergarten on Wednesday. Already that school has started and already that he's in kindergarten! I would've loved to have a few more weeks at home with him, but truth be told, we were both turning into big, lazy couch potatoes, so the change of pace will do us (both) good.

Even though we'll miss each other during the day, seeing him with his buddies again brought lots of smiles. I love these kids! The adorable boy on the left is the middle's little brother and it was his first day of PK3! James is on the right. Starting with this casual, easy-to-wear, 2 for $28 favorite tank top. (I'm wearing size Small). It's still super hot here, so tanks and shorts are the summer uniform most days and I like the loose fit of this style tank. With these kind of tops, I like to wear comfy bralettes like this or this and I don't mind if part of the straps or side shows. The lace bralettes are really cute, but I'm not a fan of the bumpy look with thinner tops. BP Favorite Tank (2 for $28) | old GAP jean shorts (similar) | We've started transitioning James from his current room into the larger guest room with a bigger bed recently. It's been a wonderful space for him over the years, as he moved in at just 4 months old. It began as a beloved nursery and then, as he got older, a fun big boy room.
