I thought I'd talk abouttoday. Have you heard of them? I have been participating in My Points for a couple of years now. There is nothing to buy and it is easy to sign up. Tomorrow night there will be a total lunar eclipse. Will you be watching? You can bet my little astronomer will be! For those of you who don't know, Justin has had an avid interest in the solar system since he was 2.5. The boy just loves astronomy. He currently owns over 90 solar system books and they have their own bookcase!

OH MY, if you still have your ECB's KEEP THEM! Take them to the store and ask the manager if he will still take them. The area manager was in my store today and he said they do not actually expire that they are like cash you have earned, and that our area stores they will let you use them regardless of the expire date! I bought the Precision monitor that is on sale this month for $19.99I also picked up some itch relief medicine we needed $4.49My total was $24.48I paid for this with our flexible spending plan so there was no additional out of pocket expense for this. I also managed to earn $14.58 for future purchases, so that $11.00 loss wasn't so bad! Too see more great savings head on over to Money Saving Mom. This week I had to cook 20 lbs of chicken for our fire company's annual oyster and chicken salad supper. It reminded me of a frugal way I make my chicken broth. I of course save all the broth from cooking the chicken for broth. I saved all the bones from the chicken to make additional broth. I do this all the time. We eat alot of rotissery chickens and I save the carcasses in a freezer bag. When I have 4 or 5 I put them into my crockpot with carrots, celery, onion, garlic, salt and pepper and let them cook all day to make a nice rich broth. I freeze the broth for future use in soups or anything that calls for chicken stock. For more frugal ideas stop by . At lunch time I had another suprise!

Picnic lunch in a bag. I got the idea from Monica over at The Homespun Heart. I think this was their favorite! Getting to open those bags and finding their lunch all packed and ready to eat. Justin asked if we could do this every day. This is our table all set with their lunch bags and Valentine plates and napkins and of course we could not forget the red sugary punch! The blocks next to the punch say "Be My Valentine". That was Justin's part of the decorating! This is what was in the bags. A heart shaped ham and cheese sandwich, a bag of potato chips, a bag of gold fish and a heart shaped ring pop.Getting ready to dig in! We had a fun day! After supper the boys each got a final gift. Kaden got finger paints and Justin got a coveted set of legos. Larry suprised me with this beautiful bouquet of roses. I hope you had a special day with your loved ones! The boys will be waking up to this:I will be making heart shaped pancakes. They each have a Valentine from mommy on their plate and a little lollipop heart flower next to their place setting.
