William Morris levde på 1800-talet och är mycket känd för sina mönster på tapeter och tyger. Hans stil hör främst hemma hos Arts & Crafts, mönstren har en tidslös känsla och har egentligen aldrig varit ur produktion. William Morris är en av världens, genom tidernas, mest välkända tapetdesigner. Han gjorde revolt mot industrialismen och dess massproduktion, och hyllade istället hantverket och ville göra det tillgängligt för hela folket. William Morris levde mellan 1934-1896 och gjorde snabbt succé då både kungligheter och privatpersoner började tycka om hans verk. Många av mönstren skapade William Morris själv men även hans assistent John Henry Dearle (1860-1832) gjorde några av de mest välkända mönstren som tex Golden Lily och Blackthorn.

När William Morris design blev omodern under början av 1900-talet, köptes företaget upp av Sanderson, som sedan har förvaltat det väldigt väl och ger ut många av mönstren som tyger och idag säljer vi både tapeter, tyger, kaffekoppar, paraplyer och annat spännande med dessa odödliga klassiker på. Tapeter och tygerna med Willow Bough, Strawberry Thief och Honeysuckle & Tulip är omtyckta av många generationer. Ett klassiskt citat från William Morris är lika aktuellt idag: "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful".
