Image detail for -Toile Curtains | I don’t know what I was thinking when I painted our bathroom dark purple. Okay actually I do know. I wanted it to be dark and cool so that when we took baths in the tub we could light candles, chill and max out–but ever since we finished painting it purple over two years ago I never truly loved it and I didn’t want to admit it to myself because painting it took forever and I got lazy.
But when we got back from Copenhagen I was like –that’s it! I’m done with the purple. I had it painted all white (well, Polar Bear by Behr actually)…3ddd curtains 3d models and then I spotted these renter’s wallpaper tiles from Hygge and West and pretty much fell in love. noah's ark curtains john lewisThe design by Emily Isabella is directly inspired by the embroidered textiles from the Otomi people of Mexico. hazelmere curtainsI LOVE Otomi embroidery and Emily’s take on it is fresh and fun. made to measure curtains whitstableThe tiles are removeable (perfect for rentals) and were pretty quick to install.madison park lola shower curtain - grey/yellow -
I’m not the*most precise* person in the world, and these old jungalow walls are pretty uneven but I felt like this pattern was very forgiving and that my little f*ck ups aren’t really noticeable.  hookless shower curtains australiaI love the pop of calm pattern that the tiles add to the room and I’m happy I went with one of more neutral colors.ready made curtains newry I added a lot of brass details including this sweet fly I found at Lawson Fenning which holds matches and has a little scratchy area on the wing to strike the match. I get off on that kinda sh*t. :) I also put my incense sticks and bricks in tiny brass containers I found thrifting. On the wall, I hung the Jonathan Adler wall sconce from Euro Style Lighting, and the little vintage brass+glass cabinet was a birthday gift from my sister this year because she knows I collect these little curios.
I found this yellow planter on Etsy a while back and fell in love with it. I put a Sansevieria plant in it, because the bathroom doesn’t get a lot of light during the day so I needed a plant that could thrive in low light. I also hung the face-silhouette-earring-holders that I found at the flea in Copenhagen. The towels are from Anthro (from last year but here are some with a similar vibe) Another shot of the fly. I can’t help myself. I got this fun, cushy, round bathmat at…wait for it…one of my favorite spots for bathmats…Bet you weren’t expecting that huh? I am a secret Ross shopper especially for bathroom stuff. And the shower curtain is from Saffron Marigold. I added some Danish pottery to the mix… And my hand full of turquoise rings is kinda the cherry on top. If I owned this place, I’d switch out the mirror and the sink hardware for something brass, too–but for now, this will have to do (and as long as we’re dreaming, I’d also add these tiles on the floor.)
But besides my far-away homeowner dreams, I’m pretty thrilled with how bright and airy my new bathroom is. I bathe with Ida in here every night and now it feels so much more clean and fun. has 100% organics natural juices and great packaging. This juice has no preservatives, which means no . can be a number of 30 different ingredients like Aspartame, dye, and saccharin so watch out. The fewer ingredients the better. Fresh squeezed juice is always better as the enzymes are active but juice over soda or sugary drinks is always a better choice. I have not seen these in the United States but hope they appear somewhere soon. On the go without a fresh juice bar around, these would be nice to have and you could easily reuse the snazzy glass bottle. Designed by an Industrial/Interior designer from Reykjavik, Iceland living and working in Milano, Italy. Lately I have been trying to take a break with my husband. He is on vacation this week. Somehow planning a trip was not in the stars.
When I found the website it made me realize I would be happy going even an hour away to a campsite and sleeping in a tent for 2-3 days relaxing under a bunch of trees. I remember as a child how it was so exciting to make a tent out of sheets in your room or a tent in your backyard. I might just put up a tent in my backyard and sleep out there for 1 night and call it a mini vacation. Everything is what you make it, right? The Happy Campers has a great website dedicated to camping sites in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. Stunning places to be in nature. And, they have a inspirational book (images above from The Happy Campers website) I was super excited to hear from a few weeks ago about their line of textiles. Based in Petaluma, CA, Saffron Marigold's line includes hand block printed duvet covers, bed spreads, drapes, cushion covers, curtains, pillow covers, table cloths, valances and shower curtains. The creations are sourced from where entire villages derive their livelihood from the craft of hand block printing.
Saffron Marigold features amazing pictures of the block printing, dying, and drying process to fully see how hard the craftspeople of Rajasthan work from start to finish. It is a pleasure to see the colors being mixed, the hand stamping process which is quite tedious, and the linens being air dried. The block printing process is quite serious. Each block is Sheesham wood, a heavy and hard wood made from a deciduous tree, native to India. If there are any areas printing gaps or holes in the carved design block, the holes/areas must be plugged with cotton. In addition, the most skilled artisan printer must print the first pattern in outline. They use their hands to measure, no ruler. As each design on the block is hand printed they move their hands from place to place ensuring accuracy of the final forms. So much love and care goes into the full design and there are quite a few people working on it. It is special to know each piece of Saffron Marigold is created with love and genuine skill.
Benjamin Hubert"CUTAWAY" / Jethro MaceyDecode London - 12a Broadway Market Mews, London E84TS, UK It appears terrariums are in demand these days. I have not had the desire for one I must admit. But, did make me curious. The colors are combined in a beautiful way. Bright blues, pinks, and yellows with all that white stone and sand is quite pretty and relaxing to look at. It has been very busy here getting ready for the National Stationery show. I swear, the time just goes by all year and then bam, the show is here.Over the next 4 weeks I have seven new letterpress notecards debuting, 3 new stamp sets of Arctic Animals, Paris, and Safari scenes, tea towels, wrapping paper, and if it can get done, wallpaper. I had to surrender yesterday and say, it will all come together. For those of you who have not yet done a trade show, it is very important to remember you cannot get every thing in your mind done. But, you can get most of it done if you stay calm and enjoy the ride. I just keep repeating it is what it is.
