A moving account of those dark and scary days as he travelled around the city with his mother and younger sister as the bombs rained down on them. He was educated at St Mary on the Quay school before becoming one of the early recipients of the new post war scholarship system, which took him to St Brendan's College in Berkeley Square, Clifton.A keen sportsman, he represented Bristol Boys and Bristol Public and Grammar Schools at Rugby whilst at school, and Bristol United at senior level.
