The Noc wall sconce is a design of the design team Smith Mattias for wrong.london. The lamp consists of an aluminium housing, which is characterised by a facet-like structure and are leading to a game of light and shadow with light edges. The simple design has a slight industrial charm that blends perfectly into any environment. The lamp is equipped with a rotating mechanism, which allows to focus the light in a particular direction. Thus, on the one hand, certain areas can be illuminated directly - such as desks and workbenches - on the other hand whole rooms such as hallways or corridors are is filled wiht soft light. The 2 m-long cable runs stylishly above, as well as through the body of the lamp and thus becoming a part of the design. Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec are innovators. I was so pleased to be part of Bridget Otto's column on color. They had thought that leaving the walls of their condo white would create an art gallery feel, but it did not. Perhaps a color consult was in order. The color helped outline the unique lines of the piece and bring its warm tones to the surface. The accent grounded the room as well, adding flavor and gravitas to the overall space.
