Yesterday I joined Danielle & Matt to photograph their brilliant wedding at Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa on Otley Chevin in North Yorkshire! During their wedding meal, I put together a slideshow of highlights from the day to play on my laptop during their evening reception.  Above is a video of those images, as a taster of things to come, set to a soundtrack of ‘Wonderwall’ – a track they both love, in this case covered by Ryan Adams (available to download in MP3 format here) – and their first dance, ‘Save Me’ by Darren Styles (the chilled-out Nitelite mix, available to download here). As well as posting the video of highlights, I also like to share the story behind my favourite images, so here goes… Before joining Danielle up at the hotel, I popped up for a few snaps on Otley Chevin, under interesting cloud formations! This was the first time I’d photographed at the beautiful Chevin Country Park so I had a good recce round the grounds before joining Danni & the girls.

They were getting ready in one of the brilliant camouflaged wooden lodges in the woodland grounds around the hotel! It was all a heady mix of nerves, excitement and bubbles inside! Danni’s stunnign wedding gown was from Angel Brides in Horsforth A little gift from the hubby to be! The brilliant purple and white flora was supplied by Ivy Flowers in Pudsey Meanwhile, Clare joined Matt & the chaps in Pudsey for their preparations A quick check to see the best man had the rings! Then the boys headed over to Chevin Country Park to join the rest of the groomsmen & guests A quick informal group shot of the lads The ceremony was held in the log-lined Lakeside room, not far from where the bride was gowning up… Danielle & the girls looked stunning I always like that moment where dad first sees his daughter dressed up for her big day. A few nervous deep breaths before heading over! I like this one, where Danielle spotted Sean was wearing their rings so as not to lose them!

Then some fun with the wedding party! I asked for 4 poses from the wedding party.  I love that the best man lay face down for one of them! The wedding breakfast was beautifully set for guests in the Woodland Suite The cutting of the cake, expertly created by a good pal of theirs After the wedding meal, as dusk set, we took another quick turn around the lake for a few more relaxed portraits Then it was time for first dance… …then everyone hit the dancefloor to party the night away! Chevin Lodge was a spot on location for a relaxed wedding in the woods, and it was great to see Dannielle, Matt & their friends and family make such a brilliant day of it.
