This curtain is definitely not blockout like 0% and it allows in the same amount of light as my regular curtains. But this actually works for me because I mostly just wanted pretty purple curtains that balance out the lighting at least a little bit so it works :) material is not as stiff as some people write here... Well it all depends on your expectations... So i would give them a 5 but since it says blackout and they turn out not to be blackout, i give them a 3. I read the reviews before I bought these. I was looking for some curtains that resembled Minnie Mouse for my 2 year old daughter's room and these are perfect! They do not block out the sunlight but I knew that before I bought these and only wanted them for the color and design. They are so cute up and add so much to her room. They also had a lavender color too which made it hard to decide. Glad I bought them and I would tell a friend! If you are looking for some cute curtains for your little girl or even your room and don't care about blocking out the sun these are your curtains!!

Does not block out light. Very pretty color and style, but they were bought because of advertised black out capability. Bought these for my granddaughters new room. Size and colors are great for little girls room. If you are wanting total blackout these aren't the curtains for you. But the price was great. These curtains are so cute and look perfect for my nursery. However I would not call them "blackout" as they still let in a significant amount of light and I will need to add something else to block the light. These curtains are very rough in texture. They are too rough to even iron. I paid the dry cleaners more than the curtains cost to press them so the folds from the packaging would look "better". They didn't go away completely. I would not recommend these. And the don't block light out. The dim the sun. These curtains are so stiff and hard that I will be returning them. I had purchased 3 panels of them earlier (all that was in stock at the time) and two panels were nice and the other one was stiff even after I tried washing and drying it.

I purchased them again hoping that I would get the soft ones, but once again received the hard ones. The curtains do as promised when it comes to blackout. It is a shame I need to return them because I bought the solid color ruffled blackout curtains of the same brand and they are so soft and nice. Fit the windows perfectly. Does block out light and sound. Packing smell was strong so need to be laundered before hanging. These really are cute! They don't block the sunlight as much as darker colored curtains would, but I figured that when I bought them. I have these curtains elsewhere in navy and the pink just seems like it naturally allows for a bit more light to come through. It is winter here now so the sun isn't as intense so I may have to do something else in the summer sun. Cute though and go with the room well. It's really helped keep her room darker in the morning light and warmer with the insulated barrier. These curtains do NOT block out the light but they are beautiful. I have not washed them in the washing machine. They have more of a shower curtain feel to them.
