« Zero Rating for Water Conservancy » There is a new reality: Brazil is no longer the "water world". We learned in school that water was so abundant here...well not any longer.... The Accor Group should be very aware about water conservation, after all, they are from Europe and we know well that water was never their greatest resource, quite the oposite. The shower head in the bathroom would make Niagara Falls envious.... And when trying to keep it running into a minimun amount, the water would hit the backwall. Hopefully somebody in the organization will wake up and realize they have to revamp all the shower heads. At least the toilet bowl had two options of flushing... LiviaAlvisi, Gerente geral at Mercure SP Ginasio Ibirapuera, responded to this review Mercure São Paulo Ginásio Ibirapuera participates in Planet 21, a global sustainable development programme, which aims to assist the hospitality industry in becoming more environmentally friendly. One of the organizations seven pillars, Nature, is about water consumption.
The hotel also reuses rain water and provides training to staff on the conscientious use of water. The hotel participates in Plant for the Planet, the company's reforestation program. For each five towels reused, one tree is planted, totalling more than 380,000 seedlings in Serra da Canastra, since 2009. In 2010 water saving devices were installed in all shower heads and taps and this month we will be changing all of these devices to ensure that we continue to save water efficiently.
