I looked ALL over for a playhouse for my daughter's 4th birthday. This was BY FAR the best price for a cedar playhouse! It isn't a HUGE playhouse, by any means, but it does the trick for what we wanted - a little house that she could play in with her neighbor friend, or big brother and pretend she's a "mommy". We put her little Playschool kitchen set inside, and a (very) small table with 2 chairs. There is NOT a lot of room inside, but it DOES help that the ceilings are so tall. I hand-painted a sign over the door to cover up the mfg's nameplate - I think that looks MUCH more adorable, and adds to the overall look of the playhouse. I cannot, personally, attest to the construction of it, as my husband and a friend put it together. I DO know that my husband is a procrastinator, and therefore managed to get it completed the DAY BEFORE my daughter's birthday party - about 8 hours. It was a HUGE hit then and is STILL, months later, her favorite thing to play with. As anyone with a 4 year old knows...that's HUGE for her to still show ANY interest in it!

We decorate it for Christmastime with lights, wreath and garland. I would say this is an OUTSTANDING value for the price! Your little one's going to LOVE it! This playhouse is a great value. It will take 8 hours, but it is not bad if you split the time up over the weekend. Two people are helpful (one adult and even an older child to hold boards, hand over screws). The frame of the house was a breeze to put together. The hardest part was the "front door" awning, which is not sturdy until you attach it to the rest of the house. Pro - I was afraid the house would not be tall enough for my 4 year old, who is quite tall for her age. But, it is 6-feet tall inside of the house at the peak. I am 5'-4 " and stood up fine. Though the outside makes it look small, there is plenty of room on the inside. We have a corner kitchenette, a chair, her shopping cart and the bench that comes with the playhouse all inside and there is still room for two other kids. The tricky part (s) - The door is very narrow and short.

My daughter has to duck down to walk in. This also made the last past of the assembly difficult for my husband. The door and the front porch awning and white pillars are the last addition. But because the door opening is so narrow, it is very difficult to maneuver to add those last pieces. A con - Not a big issue, but the bench is not very sturdy at all. You can't use it on the grass ... my daughter fell over. I know this was an issue with other playhouses we looked at. Overall, we are quite pleased and it is sturdy. By far, the best for the price. Where do I start? --- Boards are not drilled properly, parts were missing (We had to make three trips to the local hardware store.) In our box the main beam that was sent was not the one intended for our set, but was "close enough" so we made it work. The wood smelled odd. The boards had splits, knots and some were horribly warped. The instructions were not written clearly, at all. We had to do most of by guess, trial and error. Once assembled, we had to spend another weekend filling, sanding, staining and still have to spend at least one more weekend water sealing. that said, after purchasing another accessory toddler swing, my son does enjoy swinging. (No, the telescope, toddler swing and steering wheel are not included, we added those on our own.) This swingset is definitley a great product for the price! Our son is 4 & tall for his age, he has NO PROBLEMS playing on this set! I swing all the time with him & I'm 115 lbs. We did however, purchase Thompson's Water Seal to weather proof/protect it. The stain is a nice color & if you don't like it, you could stain it another. I think applying the water seal once a yr will preserve the wood for yrs to come. Once put together, it's very sturdy, but it does take 2 people to assemble certain parts. I hope this helps anyone else considering purchasing this swing set!

This set seems to be pretty sturdy and it looks very nice. It took my daughter and son-in-law several hours to assemble as the parts didn't always line up properly and so they had to make adjustments. But the final result is a very nice swing set for my grandchildren. My son is having a great time on this new swing set. It does take some time to put together but it looks really nice when its all done. I was missing two pieces of wood in the set but the company sent out the new pieces no questions asked and even did 3 day delivery. Take your time when putting this together and pre-drill everything. Bought this for our granddaughter and her friends. The wood is not a good quality at all. The playset isnt even a year old and one of the main support boards has cracked and until we buy better quality wood and create a better side support it wont be able to have the children play on it. What happened to the day when you would spend good money for a product and got your money's worth out of it.
