High to low rating Low to high rating I shopped for a 1 inch double rod in several stores and online stores/sites. I did not want it to look cheap and flimsy AND of course, i did not want to spend too much on them. These are what i expected to get for the price. Double larger rods are expensive and with 7 windows to use them on I needed them to be economical. I had already bought 3 sets at Wal-Mart -- a little different style but same brand. They look good hanging and not too overwhelming (I did not want a bulky curtain rod). They arrived with 2 end pieces broken, so i had to call Wal-Mart and deal with getting replacements and return other pieces etc, which was a pain in the neck--but i did it.. I can see where they would easily break, decorative pieces are not metal but some other material ( weird harder plastic resin type stuff). rod is metal and scroll hangers appear to be metal. I did not use sheet rock anchors included and recommend you do not either, go to home depot or Lowes and get the screw in kind that will fit included screws!
I hate when those cheap ones pull out of the sheetrock!. overall they are perfect for what i wanted and what i paid for. I chose this rod because I liked the bracket style. Packaging was interesting, just bubble wrap around the heavier end of sealed section plastic. Rod in one section, seal, finals in next, seal, brackets, screws and instructions in the last. Definitely not retail packaging. Still, it got here in one piece. The metal is sturdy enough unless you have a kid who likes to use the curtains to climb the walls. If you do, the brackets will hold short term, but you might want a better rod unless she/he bunches the curtains at the bracket first. Instructions were lacking on placement of brackets, so having internet helps. A paper template would have helped, because the brackets have a rounding on the sides, making a level difficult to use. Drill bit size given is good if using anchors, but when placement is on wood, anchors are a huge bother to get in correctly.
Knowing this, I pre-drill with 7/64. If you run into wood framing, you're ready to go. If you find it's just drywall, like I did for 3 out of 4 of my holes, drill again with suggested 3/16, tap in anchors, then screw on brackets. Installation didn't take very long at all once I figured out where to place the brackets and found the correct drill bits.eclipse thermaback blackout curtains Bars look nice, but bracket is cheap looking and pole is too flimsy for a drape with any weight to it.scania 143 curtains This item was ok in price, double rods are expensive. mustache shower curtain urban outfittersPacking the knob came broken, my husband glued it together...my living room Window is 127 inches across, it fit fine...washing sheer curtains gelatin
Real metal...not my first choice, but was on a budget... I bought the 72-144" size. Each rod (front and back) comes as 3 pieces. Two are the same size one telescopes inside the others. If you want a rod length less than approx 100" you use one big diameter rod and one smaller diameter rod. You end up with a step in rod size on each end. mayfair curtains seymourI did not like this so I cut each of the large rods so the add up to the length I needed and used the small rod as a splice. curtains te awamutuNow you cannot tell it isn't one single rod. hookless shower curtain snap linerOne of the plastic wall anchors for the brackets broke when installing it. Walmart online service is excellent. This rod set is good for lightweight curtains.
These rods are not strong enough to hold curtains when stretched to full length! The rods do not lay even. Bought it because of the competitive price and neutral [nickel] look. But, had I known that the thinner rod should be higher, I would have $pent the difference. Got a 72" for a 63" sliding door and it works well. The only problem is that the sheers hang about half an inch lower than the drapes and touch the floor. I suppose I might be able it fix it by raising and tightening their rod a bit? In regards to the plastic finials, one was dropped from a 6 feet height and did not break. Also, shipping was prompter than anticipated. This double rod worked perfect and was easy to install. Sturdy, easy to install and look beautiful :-) Well worth the money. Recommend using two blocks of wood to keep the distance between the trim and where you want to hang on wall, helps keep them level during the installation process. Just be sure to screw the blocks together once you determine where you want to install.
