Color purple stands out and helps insulate the room. Although they are not totally room darkening, they suit my needs perfectly. I had to shorten them, but it was an easy task because the backing on the fabric. The color was perfect and they hang beautifully. These curtains are not as heavy duty or as thick as some other blackout curtains carried by walmart. But they do serve the purpose. They are also more delicate and will pick if you're not careful putting them on the rod. I do love this fabric so much better as it gives a lighter feel than other blackout curtains. If you're putting them on a window that faces a TV, you will not have a glare on the TV.

I would definitely purchase more of these and recommend them. We bought these for my daughters' room so the bright morning sun would not awaken them earlier than necessary. We hung them right away, but were leery as they felt thin and appeared sheer and sure enough, the brightness from the neighbor's Christmas lights were seen right through them. The next morning, the room was a bright pink hue as the sun shone through. Returning these for Eclipse brand curtains that truly blackout, as they have a panel on the back of the curtain that prevents light from coming in. Not room darkening at all, can see right through them. Obviously not energy efficient either. Plus they are so shiny! Thank you Walmart for taking them back. I absolutely love these curtains! I got them for my bathroom , I have 3 Windows side by side right above the bathtub so these curtains say a statement! I kicked my husband out of this bathroom so now he has his own downstairs. I am very happy with them, but was not certain at first sight, due to the surprise of the dark color.
