Are you ready to checkout? Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. So that I did. My wonderful husband supported me when I decided to quit my full time job and pursue my dream of interior decorating. I started working with a local design firm -- first as the owner's assistant, then as a decorator. I loved that work -- it woke my creative juices even more and I love helping people make their homes more beautiful. But as this blog grew and grew, I knew my heart was here. Since mid-2009 I have focused completely on Thrifty Decor Chick and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is has been a blessing -- this blog, the people I have met because of it, and the inspiration I get from my readers. If this is your first time to TDC, you can check out some pics of our home here. You can read more about our debt journey and living debt free here. I hope you enjoy your time here and come back often! I love to hear from my readers! If you have any questions about projects, please check out my FAQs tab first.
If I have not answered your question there, ask away! thriftydecorchick (at) gmail (dot) com You can find all of my paint colors and major projects listed here. I appreciate hearing from all of you and do my best to respond. Your e-mails make my day! If you are interested in advertising, please go here for more info. I take on very few sponsored posts to keep my content authentic, but I love to work with businesses in the DIY and decorating fields. I have worked with Home Depot, Sherwin-Williams, True Value, Better Homes and Gardens and FrogTape just to name a few. I do not accept guest post requests or text link advertising and will not respond to those requests. You can also find me on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook! We love our home and I love making it ours. It's in constant state of change, I'm always tweaking something. My most recent transformation was our kitchen, which you can see below. Can you paint popcorn ceilings? Our ceilings are a low profile texture and with flat paint the texture disappears even more. I'm guessing that painting popcorn ceilings would do the same! If you do it, you'll want to use a roller with a thick nap -- probably about half an inch, so it can get into all of the crevices. The "popcorn" may crumble off, so I suggest you try it in a spot like a closet first to see how it works.
