Instead of a Valentine Concert this year, Director Carolyn McGowan has chosen to reprise this beautiful play by A. R. Gurney about love letters written during the lifetime of a man and woman beginning in kindergarten. It’s her third direction of “Love Letters” at JLT and this time it will be performed by Duane and Gwen Hunt who perform it every ten years either on tour or at MSSU where they both taught theatre until their retirement. It contains adult language and content and is not recommended for children. So we have scheduled it as a Saturday “date night” for adults, high school and college couples. Single Seniors are welcome, but we may pair you up. It includes a musical preshow arranged by Cecie Fritz and performed by Andrew McGowan and Sam Burnside which includes “Love Letters in the Sand”, “Love Letters Straight from your Heart” and an updated comedic version of “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself A Letter.” Tickets are $10 for all, but for an additional $5, you may write a love letter to someone you love and it will appear in the Love Letter’s program if your letter has been submitted by January 31st.
