ikea white merete curtains

Three cheers for Friday!  This week has been much busier than normal but I'm so glad to be wrapping it up sharing my Spring Home Tour with you today.  If you're visiting from No Minimalist Here, welcome and thanks for coming over!  Sherry's tour was full of such pretty accessories... all of that blue and white!!  For all of my regular readers, I'm glad you're here too.  Many thanks to our sweet hostess Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for organizing this giant group of 30 tours this week...quite the feat! It's not quite time to add fresh greenery to the porch, so we'll begin our tour in the Entry today.  This is always a good spot to give a little nod to whatever season it is. I couldn't resist adding some poms to it, too, and it's holding throw blankets for the chilly evenings we're still having. The other pom basket ended up here, holding a plant for now.  It also makes a great tote bag, though!  curtains ict mainstageI'm glad I got two of this style, I think they're going to come in really handy as well as being just too cute.fleurieu curtains blinds The curbside dresser that I picked up last year holds a simple vignette.  bhs oyster curtainsA real swallow's nest (at least I think it's from a swallow) that I actually picked up from a yard sale one year while vacationing in Angel Fire NM is under the dome.multiple colors - cs grommet window curtain panel

After a few good Ikea hacks, tiny furniture, and storage baskets galore — I turned my walk-in closet into a full-fledged nursery for my baby.
Ahead are the pics, and tips on how you can create a serene spot for your kiddo with what little space you’re working with. Photographed by Julia RobbsRemember this fun design board from, oh, a year ago? I have been working on this little bathroom makeover for months now and I’m so excited to reveal the finished product. Lots and lots of inspiration pictures! The boring before was a plain mirror and standard 4 bulb dressing room light. Ever since I heard of Mirror Mate, I knew I wanted THIS FRAME to be in my rustic nautical bathroom design. They were awesome enough to send me one and you guys, I’m convinced! I built everything else in the bathroom, but this frame was a piece of cake to assemble. You send in your custom measurements and they ship it to you. I was surprised at how light it was. I was able to lift and stick it to the mirror all. That’s what made it in my book. I love surprising my hubby to something new when he gets home. Little did he know this one took all of 5 minutes!
{well, 1 hour with drying time…} Here’s a quick video on the process: The pictures don’t really do the frame justice. It’s absolutely gorgeous and reminds me of driftwood. Above the mirror is my new, beautiful, The Schooner 3 Light. I hunted for the perfect one and this is an exclusive vanity light at Shades of Light. Imagine an ugly 4 bulb boring builder grade light as the before. If you haven’t installed lighting before, make sure you turn off the electricity that goes to the area you are working in. Then, follow the manufacturer instructions in connecting the wires. Secure with hardware and then always double check the wattage on your light bulbs. These Edison Filament Light Bulbs are 40 watts and emit the loveliest lighting. Not to mention they look auuuuhhhmazing! I’ve had this Shine like the Stars print pinned forever and may or may not have done a happy dance when it finally arrived in the mail! Jillian is such a talented artist and I basically favorited every single one of her prints.
The hand towel is from Target. I posted the how-to on these shelves a couple months ago. I’ve been very pleased with them and I’ve since installed them in 2 of my friend’s houses! {I also learned how to better adjust the white balance in the photos.} All the decor is from Gordmans; my secret decor source! On the opposite side of the room, I had to add board and batten before adding hooks. {it’s already in my entry way, my nursery, and E’s big girl room} Installing was a cinch with my Ryobi AirStrike Finish Nail Gun. After puttying, I painted the board and batten with my Home Right Finish Max Pro in the same white that matches my trim. Then I taped the rest of the wall off. I wanted to add navy blue but I didn’t want it to be too overwhelmingly nautical. Country Chic Paint’s Midnight Sky is so dark and yummy and matte. 2 coats later and it was done. I only used 1 pint! Let’s talk about the shower curtain peeking out at you It’s a simple pair of Ikea MERETE curtains that I added 1 yard of Manchester Premier in Navy at the bottom of each curtain so that I could hang them from the ceiling and they would touch the floor.
