I used to live on Oahu & understand the winds. You may want to consider using grommets, washers & bolts if a metal post or lag bolt if wood, if this is to be a permanent installation. A grommet kit would be very useful in this. Cut the ends with enough to fold over to strengthen the connection to the posts & install the grommets. Zip ties will eventually tear the fabric when the wind pulls it back & forth. You want it tight!
