Submitted by: Chaven Yenketswamy I was up early and went outside. Some of the bigger planets were already risen.Jupiter towards the Western Horizon and the crescent moon and Venus in the East. The bright star Porrima facing North. I decided to get my sky binoculars 15×70 mm which are sometimes do to look at the positions of the moons of Jupiter. I could only see one moon to the left and was wondering where the others where.

It was clearly similar in appearance to a bright star. However after a few seconds its glow dimished substantially to that of a less prominent star but still travelling in a Northly direction. I gage its speed was similar to that of a passenger airliner. I followed the point like object for about two minutes before it was out of visibility. Iam curious to know what type of spacecraft can glow so brightly to a magnitude as bright as Jupiter and then switch off and reduce its intensity.

curtains renotalk jb I was out in my garden yesterday morning when a flock of noisy birds were swarming around insects.
the tortilla curtain worksheetI turned to see what the fuss was about and as they cleared I saw a pinpoint of light in the sky – like star – in the SE.

I was still processing how odd for that time of the morning that was when I saw a second. In the space of several minutes – more appeared. I showed my husband who couldn’t really make out what I was pointing at. More appeared to the left of the first until a cluster of around 14 in total were visible in one bunch – I kept recounting to keep track. The entire lot moved across the sky in a high arc toward the NW. Several of the starlike objects formed two identical formations – like an arrow with a short tail. One of the objects was definitely longer in shape than all the rest. Then they just faded from sight. Time and date: 4:25am Sunday 6 December Submitted by: Jacques De Kock I was looking out the window when I noticed a star like object suddenly appearing high up in the sky, from where I was standing the UFO was in a northerly direction and initially appeared to be a star but then the object made a zigzag (up n down) movement before moving from west to east in a straight line, the object made no sound and moved at various speeds from slow to extremely fast and then slow again repeatedly

for about a minute before moving out of visual range. My girlfriend who was with me when this occured said she initially thought the object to be a satellite but was unable to visually understand the manner in which the object moved. The sighting was bizarre and difficult to understand/explain as there are not much to compare what we saw with. Time and date: Every evening I live in Port Elizabeth. I have been noticing this two ‘stars’ in the early evening lately. It seems that the smaller ‘star’ is orbiting the bigger ‘star’. Every night I look at them, around about the same time, the smaller ‘star’ is in a different position. Are they stars, or are they a planet and its moon? They appear in the night sky in a westerly direction at an elevation of about 40 degrees to the horizontal. I make the observations between 18h30 and 19h30. I have included two pictures. Although they are not very clear, you can clearly see the different position of the smaller ‘star’.

Time and date: This was a while back: June 2007, time 04:00 Submitted by: Michelle Jordaan I woke up very early and opened my curtains to look at the stars. I saw a bright white star in the sky. It looked like the morning star. It was first stationary and then very slowly it started descending to stop again. It stayed in that position for about a minute. During that time I tried to determine any flashing lights or to see if it could be a helicopter because it was close to the Swartkop Airbase (my father was an air traffic controller so I know planes). But it was not. It suddenly became very bright to such an extent that the light hurt my left eye so severely that I had a pain in my head from the sharp light. The light did not become larger, just extremely brighter. The object was also not close to me. It seemed as though it powered up because shortly afterwards it skidded away at a great speed up into the heavens in a zig-zag format until it became smaller and smaller until it was gone.

I was a bit upset about the bright light that hurt my left eye. But to have seen and experience something like that was mindboggling. Time and date: Evening 09/06/2015 While watching the stars (loadshedding again) we saw a flash of light close to the southern cross. The size of the light is similar as to what a star looks like. Then there was a second flash to the north of the fist one. The third flash completely in the opposite direction to the south. This is the second time we have seen these flashes. The first encounter was +- 6 months ago. Impossible to photograph as this happened in seconds. What can this be? Time and Date: 1 January 2015 9:00pm Our balcony has a wide view of the helderberg and Hottentot holland mountain ranges. It was about 9:00pm and i was getting some air outside when i spotted a “star” in the sky, although it seemed out of place, to low and to bright to be a star so i watched it. The object didn’t move for about ten minutes so i went back inside.

About five minutes later i looked from the bedroom window and the object was still there, then it dimmed and started displaying an assortment of smaller flashing shiny white lights, in some sort of sequence. I got my binoculars and followed it as it again turned into a star shape, and it was moving slowly. It then disappeared completely only to reappear more to the right and started flashing again. I was too far away to hear any sound. Whole sequence happened again, then no sign after 15 mins. Time and date: 29 January 2015 at 8:30 PM It was close 8.30pm, 29 Jan 2015. The sky was a beautiful darker blue with a tinge of green at the horizon by the ocean & Table Mountain. I was driving along Parklands main rd, towards Bayside mall in Table View, and like I normally do when I can see the stars starting to appear & the moon starting to shine brighter, I look out at the sky with wonder an imagination. Suddenly exactly where I was looking a huge bright green streak crossed my vision.

It was over in seconds but amazingly I saw so much detail, probably because it was so low compared to the normal shooting stars one sees at night. This seemed to be very low in the atmosphere, almost touchable but obviously not. Time and date: 23 January 2015 at 7:30 PM Place: Mtwalume on KZN South Coast Submitted by: Julie Titchmarsh On Friday 23rd Jan 2015 at about 7:30 pm at Mtwalume on KZN South Coast the sky was very clear. Looked up and saw a bright white light zooming across the sky in easterly direction. Was not like a shooting star. The white light went out and then started flashing red and green. While we were watching it, what appeared to be a bright star moved across the sky in a northerly direction. There were also several bright flashes in the sky in different places. The red and green flashing object appeared to be moving up and down. This activity carried on for several hours. Time and date: 12 January 2015 at 22:00 – 23:00 Place: Durbanville, Cape Town
