The interiors of the Palladian Hotel in a 1910 landmark building in Seattle, where Hollis used velvet, blackened wood, and tarnished brass to create atmosphere. Q: I found this shower curtain at World Market and totally loved it for my bedroom. I have plans to turn it into two window curtains for my bedroom, but I'm having some trouble picking out a color scheme around it.

I need a rug, bedding, and furniture. I don't want the room to be too busy with colors and patterns, but I've never been good at color coordinating. I'm leaning toward the tan color, but I'm open to more colorful options. Any help would be great! Editor: Leave your suggestions for Brynna in the comments - thanks!Send us yours with pic attachments here (those with pics get answered first)We hope you enjoy this section of our website and find it inspirational. Most of the items featured on this page are unique in that they are one of a kind, usually a result of a store sample that was created for a club purpose or kit that we have discontinued. Some of the items are a result of sleepless nights, long walks, and pure enjoyment! The embroidery items are meant to "wow" and the prices reflect the pride we take in our work. All the items are available for purchase, some are available for custom ordering. Many of the samples are unfinished; perfect for those of you that enjoy hand-quilting, but we will be happy to finish them with long arm quilting if you so desire.

If while browsing our site you find a 'current sample' you would like to purchase we encourage you to contact us and have us place it on reserve for you. In many cases we would be happy to make matching pillows, curtains, bedskirts, etc. for the complete bedroom. If you like one of our samples but would prefer a different colorway, again it doesn't hurt to inquire on the possibility of a special order. We guarantee you will be pleased with the quality of both materials and workmanship. The Serenity Collection: Obviously this has been a work in progress and my Creative Vision embroidery machine has been pretty busy. I really believe in decorating the whole room and love to incorporate pillows with quilts. Eventually this ensemble will be a 'new home' gift to my eldest son! All three pillows were created using Pfaff's Grand Dream hoop which is large enough to allow only one hooping. Instead of stabilizer I user a remnant piece of fabic for the backing, a lightweight batting (Hobb's thermore or Tuscany silk) and pillow top fabric.

I love to embroider directly on fabric/batting because it gives the embroidery an 'embedded/texture' look. However some airy designs loose their stability if I use only batting without a fabric backing. The dense designs are fine with just top and batting but better safe than sorry so I always use a fabric base. With the new hoops I have no trouble hooping top, batting, & backing and I really don't use any clips. This pair of pillows were created using Pfaff's 'Grand Richeleau' collection. Upper left is beautifully digitized with great dimension. Using cherrywood fabrics for the pillow base I choose not to use the cutwork feature. Upper right I used the cutwork feature and incorporated the focus fabric from the quilt for the flower petals. Serenity Pillow - Front Serenity Pillow - Back The embroidered border from Pfaff's Grand Treasures collection nicely frames the mirror image embroidery from Pfaff's Deluxe Needle Effects collection. Crystals add just the right touch of sparkle and elegance!

The inspiration for this tablerunner was a birthday gift for my daughter-in-law. The red inner border is fabric ruching which really gives dimension. We stepped up the embroidery from Pfaff's "Vintage Medallion" collection by incorporating cut work applique for the flowers. Crystals will reflect the candlelight nicely! The embroidery on the tablerunner is from Pfaff's Yarn Couching collection. The technique allows the use of yarn or thicker threads in place of thread! The matching pillow is actually the free design that comes with the purchase of the Grand Dream Hoop. 4D Family Portrait Software The framed photograph is a sepia portrait of my mother as a child. I used Pfaff's new 4D family portrait software to scan, digitize and embroider a replica. The fabric frame is from Pfaff's Grand Treasures collection. This treeskirt was pieced and machine quilted before I embroidered it! A close look shows that the embroidery is done through all three layers and precise positioned with only a 1/4" allowance.

This was accomplished using Pfaff's exclusive precise positioning feature. Most people assume the embroidery was first done on a large piece of fabric and then fussy cut to fit! Our competition would have to use that technique; with Pfaff and the Creative Vision it was a snap! The embroider designs are from Pfaff's Deluxe Needleworks Collection. This pillow is just exquisite! The front uses our favorite design from Pfaff's new Floral Symphony collection which features the new velvet texturing and the Grand Dream hoop. The fabric from Benartex's "Illusion" collection is the perfect backdrop to showcase this remarkable embroidery. The pillow back uses covered buttons to join the two embroideries: Delux Needle Effects and Candlewicking -- both from Pfaff! The two color cutwork embroideried ruffle completes the "WOW." This pillow is similar to my "Serenity" pillow except the flowers are different pastel shades. This pillow will eventually compliment my bed quilt using the "Illusions" fabric and the "Pottery Wheel" cherrywood collection.

The lap quilt which used a combination of fabrics from MODA's collection and Buggy Barn's "Iced Mocha," was quilted by QBot. The pillow with self facing uses the Grand Dream embroidery collection while the other pillow is a free design that comes with the Creative Vision. Both were done in one hooping with the Grand Hoop. The vase is a perfect compliment from Younker's. This is Jeff & Jenelle's 5th anniversary quilt made from MODA's French General line of fabrics. The embroideries originated from Pfaff's Rhapsody in Yarn collection. Most of them were edited (combined, resized, etc.) using Pfaffs 4D software. I wish I would have had the new 5D software as it is so much faster and easier to use. Wait until you see the matching pillows, curtains and shower curtain. Ashley started this trend when she made the first bag and used it as a carry-on when she went to visit her fiance.

She called from the airport complaining about all the women who stopped her asking about her bag. So I made both of my daughter-in-laws one, they use them everyday as a purse and now all their co-workers want one. I gifted Ashley's college roommate with one as a baby shower gift and many of the other attendees asked Ashley where they could get one. Yes, we are selling them at the store. We use the "birdie sling" pattern by Amy Butler as our base pattern. Added lots of pockets to help organize everything from a cell phone to baby wipes. The perfect bag for a shopping trip to hold everything Mom and baby needs. For the baby bag version we quilted a small quilt, folded it into quarters and it's the perfect base. Click on thumbnails for more pictures. Ashley designed the quilt based on a picture from a magazine. The bumper pads have embroidered 'wheels' that match the border fabric of the quilt. The pads attach to the spindles of crib with velcro sewn on the back of the wheels.
