I replaced the 6 AA batteries with fresh batteries and charged the fairy again until the base indicator turned off, but still no luck. It just spins in the base. All the wings are attached and are able to move freely. If I launch it in mid air it would just descend to the floor even when I have my hand under it. My 7 year old is so disappointed because she said "it was a present from Santa..." Contacted Spin Master by email at the end of December and got a response from them in mid January asking me to call them.

Waited 45 mins on the phone and finally got to speak with a customer service representative, while explaining the problem the guy hung up on me. Tried calling back again and again and the wait was just too long. Their product must be really bad to have their customer wait over 45 mins for support. Poor Product Design and Engineering! Never buy Spin Master products again!!! My 8 year old daughter has been wanting this toy for over a year but the reviews made me leery so we kept saying no. This flutterbye ended up on her Santa list again this year so I figured we had to finally take the plunge. I had low expectations because people were still giving low ratings to the toys on all online websites. We have loved it. She was thrilled Christmas morning and this particular fairy seems to fly really nice and look amazing. It stays up well and responds really well. It has taken many crashes but it has held up perfectly. I would definitely recommend it to any girl who loves the magic of fairies.

My granddaughter bought this product with money she received for her birthday. Her joy lasted all of 10 minutes as the toy flew away never to be seen again. You can not allow the flutterbye to be flown in the house as you'll end up with many broken items. The fine print in the instructions tells you not to fly outside because it can fly away. She was absolutely heartbroken, my daughter bought this with her own money. she was so excited to have a flying fairy. unfortunately it is very erratic and flies off and crashes within 10 seconds of every flight. my daughter is very disappointed and no longer even tries to play with it. My daughter rec'd this for her 9th bday. We have a playroom in the basement where she uses it, even my 6 yr old daughter can use it as well. They love it and I do recommend it, just be sure to fly it INSIDE and some place where there are not breakable items. This toy is very nice and solid. doesn't easily break, its been a month used everyday, working great.

She fell in love with it, and the more we used it, the more it grew on me...so we are definitely keeping it as an early Xmas present. Works great every time! The two cons of the product both have to do with charging. I wish it lasted longer for one. We usually get about 10 minutes of play out of it each time. My 4 year old understands that it has to be charged and good things come to those who wait...but some kids might not be so patient. Also, I think it's ridiculous to use 6 AA batteries to charge it when they should have supplied an AC adapter with it for charging. If they come out with a new one with an adapter, I would upgrade to that one. Until then, we will just use rechargeable batteries. I'm not buying stock in batteries for one toy. Other than that, we love it!! I hope it lasts because it does take some pretty brutal crash landings.
