Day 1 - Arrive at São Tomé Fly to São Tomé via Lisbon (flights depart three times a week). You might like to spend a night or two in Lisbon en route, or on the way home.
the tortilla curtain sparknotes summaryWhen you arrive at São Tomé airport, you'll be met and driven to Omali Lodge Boutique Hotel, just five minutes away.
umbra twilight curtain rod nickel Omali is located just outside the picturesque town of São Tomé, on Lagarto beach. It is the perfect base from which to explore the natural and cultural wonders of the equatorial island of São Tomé. Inside, there are 30 comfortable rooms and suites, surrounded by verdant gardens of green lawns and swaying palms that run down to the beach. There is also a swimming pool and a restaurant serving tasty, fresh cuisine.

The island enjoys a diverse marine and terrestrial ecosystem, with whale watching between July and September, turtle watching between December and March, bird watching, diving, snorkelling and fishing there for the taking. We also recommend climbing the Pica de São Tomé for beautiful island views. Overnight: Omali Lodge Boutique Hotel Days 2 - 7 - São Tomé to Principe After an early breakfast, you'll be driven to the airport for your light aircraft flight to Principe Island, which will take approximately 40 minutes. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Bom Bom Island Resort, which will take approximately 10 minutes. Bom Bom Island Resort occupies an islet on the north coast of Príncipe, lying amongst lush rainforest, plantations and beautiful secluded beaches just begging to be explored. The resort has just 19 air conditioned bungalows with sea, garden or pool views and large verandas. There is also a swimming pool, and a delightful bar/restaurant with open-deck that is accessed by a wooden causeway and has lovely views overlooking the sea.

If you tire of relaxing, there's plenty to do at Bom Bom. Snorkel to see reefs teeming with bright red soldiers, snapper, goatfish, barracuda, turtles, eels, lazy nurse sharks, stony coral, gorgonian sea fans and volcanic boulders coated in anemone; head out by boat to see humpback whales on their migration (July to September); see turtles nesting on the beach (December to March); trek into the forest in search of monkeys and multifarious bird life; or join a local expert on a fishing trip. Also on the island are cocoa, coffee and vanilla plantations, the charming, historic town of San António, and Sundi Estate, a colonial farm that was once the home of the Portuguese Royal family. The Sundi Estate hosts a large hospital, a church, stables, coffee and cocoa roasting facilities, a mansion, sleeping quarters that once housed hundreds of workers, an old disused railway network with a steam locomotive and various other outbuildings. Sundi is also the place where, in 1919, Sir Arthur Eddington proved Einstein's relativity theory during a total eclipse.
