Length Questions - page 2Length Reviews - page 2 High to low rating Low to high rating I was very disappointed in these curtains. They do not block light. Sure, as a curtain they will darken a room a bit but I have regular curtains in my other rooms that do a better job at darkening a room.
circo purple dots and stripes curtainsI'm surprised there are so many positive reviews on this product.
jo brown curtains st albansJust because other people are ok with the amount of light these filter does not make them an effective black out curtain.
curtains gullaneIf your looking for a black out curtain or something that is remotely close to a black out curtain, then do not buy this product. I have included a couple of photos to illustrate the effectiveness of these curtains.

One photo is a standard curtain and the other is the product being reviewed. (If you can't tell, the green curtain is the black out curtain). I know it is hard to tell in the photo but the red standard curtain is better at blocking the light. Obviously some of the light in the rooms is the light that is escaping around the edges of the blackout curtain but it is clear that the curtain itself is allowing a lot of light through. My husband and I debated back and forth as to whether or not we wanted to give these curtains a try in our daughter's bedroom. Her bedroom window faces East and gets direct, blinding sun in the early morning hours...which in turn wakes her up much earlier than we would like on the weekends. We first bought the color Raspberry. This color did an OK job at blocking light, but still wasn't quite what we were looking for. We returned the items to our local Walmart store and got the Plum color. This color is GREAT! Little to no light shines into her room. The Plum color is a very pretty purple.

(I've seen some other reviews that the Plum color is not what they were expecting when they ordered online. Although we bought these curtains in store, I will say that the color online is the exact color of the curtains in person. Maybe computer monitor coloring is off for those saying the color isn't what's depicted online?!) We are now thinking of upgrading the curtains in our entire house with this brand and specific style. Hopefully we can find the colors we are looking for in store! Okay, so I have two little munchkins (toddlers) who like to wake up extremely early like they have jobs to get ready for and I don't wanna get up that early on my day off, y'all! My mom was telling me about these curtains and I figured I would give them a try! Easy to install and the kept the room darkkkkk! It wasn't dark as in nighttime dark but it was much darker compared to when they weren't up. You can see some light peeking through because it blocks some of the light just not all. All and all, I am satisfied.

I will take some darkness vs. all that sunlight. My munchkins did sleep a little longer andddd the curtains makes nap time much easier. "Mommy, it's not dark outside. Not time for a nap." Pull those curtains down. And they are out in minutes compared to talking to each other the wholeeee time. As a mom, you gotta do what you got to! These have helped keep my child's room warmer, darker and quieter! And she loves the color! I bought these curtains because supposedly they were blackout. They also matched my daughters new bedroom linens. I had read several mixed reviews. Some said pink was really block out and some said don't even bother. I assumed the problem was maybe people didn't have blinds on their windows which would allow more light to pass through or maybe the company had improved their curtains over time. I don't always trust reviews because sometimes they aren't competent accurate. They really are not blackout curtains. The packaging says 99% light blocking.

The company has stated the remaining 1% of light you can see through the curtains us because our eyes are trained to see light. This is not accurate. They're thin and true blackout curtains will not allow any light through. They do block a decent amount of light and it will serve it's purpose for us because it blocks enough light (not 99%) that it won't disturb my daughter from sleeping. The problem with these curtains can be corrected if you're willing to clip or sew blackout fabric onto them. That's probably what we will do and it will still be cheaper than spending $50 a panel at BBB. Like everyone else has said, the color depicted online is horrible. I originally passed on buying these curtains online because the color I wanted (navy) didn't appear navy at all. So I purchased something else and just so happened to stroll down the curtain isle after I picked up my online order in store. I saw a navy curtain panel, just what I wanted. But they only had one. So I figured I would try my cheaper option first and see if I could find the Eclipse curtain online.

I snapped a picture of the product in store. Much to my surprise, when I returned home and typed in the description, I was brought to this page. After reading the other reviews, I was convinced that all of these curtains are probably MUCH darker in person than shown here. I ordered four panels and they showed up at my door a couple of days later .... and they are TRUE NAVY, nothing like the navy shown on the product page, which is just what I wanted. I am very happy with the product but am a little surprised that the product description online is so untrue (from my experience). As I said, I would just make the assumption that the colors are going to be much darker than shown. Otherwise, great product as usual from Eclipse. I bought 6 of these panels to match a floor rug that I purchased. I selected 84 length but to my surprise when hung the lengths were a little off. I like things to be exact that's why I gave 3 stars in this review. Ordered 2 two panels. Panels came separately and were two different shades of pink.

A lot of buyers were complaining that these are not light blocking, but they just perfect for my daughters room - she has 3 windows and they do a good job of blocking the light. However her room is North facing and does not get direct sun. The "raspberry" color is a bit deeper than shown in the picture. They are only moderately thick and very lightweight (in a good way) so even with the 84" panels my 4 year old can easily open and close them herself. Many customers complained about a weird smell - and there is a mild polyester odor (but only if you actually put your nose right up to the curtains). I wonder if they used to ship these wrapped in plastic? Mine came in the box in a cardboard sleeve (luckily it didn't rain the day they were delivered because it may have soaked through the shipping box and ruined the panels) I imagine that if they were individually wrapped in plastic they would be quite smelly when removed from the package. There are instructions for removing wrinkles - place panels in the dryer on high for 20 mins with a damp dish towel - remove promptly and hang.
