I love upcycling furniture and regularly do commissions for people so i wanted a number of pieces for the nursery that I had revamped myself.  When planning the nursery I decided to start with the  Wallpaper and go from there. I was keen to have a piece of furniture that felt completely unique and so i tried to make the tall boy chest of drawers with the wallpapered fronts and retro handles a real feature. I would describe my decorating style as eclectic. The nursery mixes brand new swedish style furniture [cot & changing table], mid century revamped retro [the tall boy&lamp] and hand painted, distressed solid wood pieces [the wardrobe, mirror & rocking chair].

The hot air balloon is handmade from recycled materials and the little aeroplane was rusting in my dad's garage, just a bit of chalk paint to give it a new lease of life. I really love the wall sticker which is from Parking Interiors on Not on the High Street. The Hot Air Balloon is made from recycled materials. The aeroplane is painted with a selection of Annie Sloan Chalk paint. The clouds were handmade from an old white teeshirt and all have been suspended using fishing line. My favourite item is the Hot Air Balloon. I've never made anything like this before but I really got into it. I even had a pinterest board dedicated to hot air balloons with dozens of pictures pinned on it as inspiration. My advice would be, start with one item or pattern that you really like and build around it.
