Summer Infant Video Baby Monitors with Electrical Cords What you should do The recall involves all models of Summer Infant video baby monitors with electrical cords. The monitor comes in various colours and the recall also includes a corded camera. The cords present a potential strangulation hazard to infants and toddlers if placed too close to a crib. Due to the serious strangulation risk, parents and caregivers should never place these monitors or other corded cameras within one meter (three feet) of a crib. Health Canada would like to remind parents to place cribs away from windows, curtains, blind cords, lamps, electrical plugs and extension cords.
The baby's head could become caught in the cords, resulting in strangulation. Summer Infant has received two reports of strangulation deaths and one near strangulation incident occurring in the United States in the past year. Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products. In Canada, approximately 58,000 of the recalled products were sold at Sears Canada, The Bay, Zellers, Toys R Us and various other specialty retailers across Canada. The recalled products were sold from May 2003 to February 2011. The original brick façade (foreground) was retained during construction using underpinning and lateral support methods that were designed by our project managers “in house”. As Construction Manager selected by British Columbia Building Corporation we managed the refurbishment of the building that is the Ministry of Health. To complete the project the existing building was stripped to basic structure and a new high performance curtain wall glazing system containing portions of photovoltaic panels was installed, as well as seismic dampers and a new electrical, data and mechanical systems. The Vogue on Government located at 1450 Government Street, the century old Albion Ironworks timber frame warehouse and office building was converted into loft condominiums and ground floor commercial space for Mountain Equipment Co-op. Seismic upgrades included large concrete transfer beams installed in the basement to facilitate the removal of central timber columns to allow a drive isle for underground parking.
