This page contains a table showing recycling sites in the borough and the recyclable materials accepted at each site. Below this table is a list of items that can be recycled in each bin type. To find your nearest Reigate and Banstead recycling point please look at:- Not all sites can recycle all materials, so please check what each centre can recycle before planning your trip. Please do not place your recycling in plastic bags or any other container, please place items clean and loose in the bins. Plastic bags are unacceptable and cause problems for our facilities where the material is recycled. To report any damage or overflowing at one of our recycling sites use the recycling centre online form. Please ensure that the containers have been rinsed, are free of liquids and for aerosol cans fully emptied.
Please do not place them in boxes or bags. We can recycle most types of plastic bottle, tub or tray.  It doesn't matter what colour or shape as long as they are clean and not placed in carrier bags.  Please remove the lids from the containers, as this increases the quality of the recycling. In October 2015 retailers will be charging you for carrier bags when you go shopping.  We support the reuse of carrier bags as reuseable shopping bags which can be used time and time again. You will save money by reusing bags and at the same time helping the environment. If you have bags for recycling, most supermarkets now have in-store carrier bag recycling facilities for your use. We can recycle all colours of glass bottles and jars in the same recycling bin.  Please make sure the containers have been rinsed, are empty and the lids have been removed.  You can recycle a wide range of textiles, paired shoes and similarly related items in our specially designed textile and shoe recycling containers.
Please ensure shoes are paired together in a bag or tied lace, and that the textiles are clean and dry to prevent them from going mouldy. Foil can be placed in the 'Cans, tins, aerosols and foil' bin, see above. Please note the labels on these bins will be updated soon to include foil and aerosols. At a limited number of recycling centres we are able to accept books and cd's. Retail Food Sampler - EpsomGeorge Baker was less than impressed with criticism from the Racing UK presenters Lydia Hislop and Steve Mellish about the debut ride of his amateur Michael Mitchell at Pontefract last week. Hitting back on his blog, the trainer wrote: "Other higher profile female presenters told me last week that Lydia (for whom a prominent National Hunt trainer has the most brilliant but sadly unprintable nickname), who insists on going racing dressed in her grandmother's curtains, has barely if ever sat on a horse. From her overintellectualised analysis of jockeyship, one would imagine that she had ridden several Cheltenham Festival and a couple of Classic winners." But Baker, a former reporter, chastened by some comments from readers, apologised fully the next day, adding: "Yesterday's blog slid into the lazy style of journalistic jingoism that I personally so abhor. The cheap shots yesterday were puerile and ill-judged and I apologise to Mr Mellish and Ms Hislop."
Could Godolphin's hard-working trainer Saeed bin Suroor be about to add another string to his bow? The Dubai-born handler has registered a set of colours as an owner. But not for him the blue of Godolphin – Bin Suroor's horses will sport pink silks with blue chevrons. It was not just the Co Tipperary trainer Tommy Stack who celebrated the success of Campos at Catterick on Tuesday. The well-backed two-year-old is owned by Stack's son and assistant Fozzy and was bred jointly by him and his school friend, the jockey Jamie Spencer. Unusual colours and the concept of team competition in racing was not confined to Ascot today as 7,000 racegoers are expected to be at Windsor tomorrow for the latest "Football Furlong" raceday. Sponsored by the Professional Footballers' Association, a number of big names from the Premier League are expected to be in attendance, not least the event's "ambassador", Harry Redknapp. A race between mascots of the Premier League clubs, including obstacles, will take place before racing while Chelsea staff (and hopefully a player or two) will hold a football skills workshop during the afternoon.
Accompanied under-18s go free. There was an unfortunate typo on the Racing Post's live reporter service at Pontefract on Thursday informing readers that there was a "best-dressed lay competition" for female racegoers that afternoon. It was a day of high drama at the track. Norman Gundill, the managing director and clerk of the course, was out on the track hosing the grass down just hours before racing started after a vehicle shed a load of diesel, while a call also went out on the public address system for the owner of a Land Rover whose handbrake had failed and whose vehicle was slowly sliding down the slope towards the mile-and-a-half start. Chris Catlin will have had better days than the one he had on Friday. Setting off from home for Brighton races just after 11am, the jockey was caught up in big traffic jams on the M25 caused when the Dartford crossing was shut due to a lorry catching fire. Catlin finally arrived at the Sussex course after six hours in the car. He missed his first four booked rides and arrived just in time to take part in the final race, where his mount came third, before setting off on the return trip.
