Locomotion is an £11.5m development that combines a series of historic buildings with a new purpose-designed facility that houses 60 historically important vehicles from the national railway collection. Designed by Austin Smith Lord, the museum is a major regeneration project located in Shildon, one of the world’s oldest railway towns. Since opening, the facility has exceeded all expectations, with visitor numbers three times above those predicted.
Technal’s Trame Horizontale curtain walling was specified as continuous bands of ribbon glazing to provide high level lighting to the long sides of the building. The horizontal emphasis of the system met the architectural aesthetics of the design and contrasts effectively with the gabion wall construction – galvanised steel baskets filled with local stone.lafayette back tab window curtain panel The Trame curtain walling system also features prominently to the main and rear elevations, which are curved at the eaves. curtains 190cm dropThe design maximises the amount of natural light entering the building to reduce energy consumption, in keeping with the strong sustainability theme of the project.108 inch curtains pier one
Our Shildon Dental Practice was formed in 1990 by the partnership of Simon Ashby and Steven Atkinson. They both graduated from Newcastle University in 1987 and after a period working in a large Darlington Practice left to start their own. Gareth Fay was welcomed into the group in 2001 and all three have pursued the development of a locally driven preventive practice with an enviable reputation for care.weathermate tab top curtains The practice moved premises in December 2009 to 23/27 Main Street, a site that needed extensive refurbishment but now hosts one of the best facilities for dental care in the region. blue curtain falls deutsche übersetzungAs well as five dentists and a busy dental hygienist the dental team includes our nurses, oral health educators and coordinators.burnt orange taffeta curtains

A complete internal and external refurbishment has taken place at the Bargains store in Shildon, formally the site of the town’s Morrisons. The convenient Church Street location will allow Shildon locals to experience the retailer’s wide variety of branded and own label products, including toys, food & drink and seasonal ranges. Store colleagues invited along representatives from Butterwick Hospice to cut the ribbon, as part of B&M’s Local Hero initiative. A B&M Local Hero can be an individual or organisation from the local community, who have made an important contribution through their charity work. As well as cutting the ribbon at the opening, Butterwick Hospice also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part.
The Hospice cares for people of all ages who are living with a progressive, life-limiting illness. These services are provided free of charge to those diagnosed, as well as their loved ones. Carmel Hodgson, store manager at B&M Shildon, said: “Butterwick Hospice really stood out for us as they really go the extra mile for the community. “We wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.” Ms Hodgson expressed her delight at finally opening the store to the community. She said: “We’re really excited to have opened in Shildon! “We’ve got a great team of new colleagues on board and we hope that customers are going to be delighted with our new store.” Also making an appearance at the opening ceremony was the Mayor of Shildon, Councillor Matthew Burdess, who gratefully accepted an invitation to attend.
