Bakery & Cake Shop All of the breads and baked goods that you can buy and sample at Albion are made on the premises from scratch.
The choice of breads range from classic sour dough, in several sizes and shapes, to English bloomers and French baguettes. There are seed and herb breads, multi-grains, rye breads, fruit breads, Mediterranean-style breads and many more. Alongside the extensive range of breads, each day the team bake a range of Viennoiserie: croissants; Danish pastries and various other modern interpretations including our famous cheese and Marmite scrolls. Pies are a quintessentially British. They are wonderfully social and ideal for sharing, while also perfectly portioned and independent when made for one. They are historic and they are contemporary. At Albion, a pie can be pastry topped, potato topped, vegetable topped, cheese topped, it might also be open or upside down. A pie can be sweet or savoury, a steak and kidney pudding or a bread and butter pudding, it can be hand-moulded, pastry enclosed, a tart, a quiche, served hot or served cold, extravagant or simple, from regal to regular.
Bring on the pies! All of our shops are open from early morning until late night, generally following the same trading hours as the adjoining café or restaurant. All of the wines served in our bars and dining rooms, plus many more, are also available to take home. Every Monday, from 5.30pm, each Albion offers a really great value dining deal offering a wholesome main course plus a glass of wine or a craft beer for £14. A straightforward deal, with no restrictions or conditions, at a straightforward price. No need to book, just turn up and enjoy! At our grill restaurants (Bankside and Clerkenwell), you can book in advance online via our website, or via email or telephone, but it isn’t necessary, as we always keep a fair number of tables for walk-ins and regular guests. At the weekend and during school holidays, we provide a free meal for children under six, all day, until bedtime – up to two children for every one adult dining, with the selection from the children's menu.
Groups, Parties and Events Each Albion is delighted to host large groups, parties or events. The largest location is Clerkenwell that accommodates up to 225 guests, Albion Bankside takes group bookings for parties of up to 120 and Counter Albion can provide a space for a maximum of 90 guests.
