Well the sewing machines are cooling down and the vacuum cleaner has spent an hour in the workshop. It's time to pack up the scissors and cottons for a couple of weeks. The Curtain Girl has had a huge year with support from clients, friends, workers and family. From the smallest job to our biggest ever this year, the Curtain Girl team has really done us proud. We have a couple of new staff members who joined during the year. Renee, a sewer and hard worker who keeps us on the right track and my son Hamish, who helps Murray with installing in the school holidays. Both have been a real asset to The Curtain Girl. Also some readymade voiles that we changed from pencil pleat to mono (single) pleat. They now hang beautifully. We are sooo busy getting drapes and blinds made before Christmas. We have made the drapes for a few of their apartments now and always love working with them. Got a lovely surprise putting up the last ranch slider drapes today. A beautiful gift basket.

Great to be driving a colourful van again after a accident took my blue van off the road. We have had a real rush in November and have now closed off orders for drapes and romans for pre Christmas delivery. We can book you in for late January making and install. Looking forward to making some great fabric choices in the next few weeks and then some time at the beach. Had a email from a supplier who wanted to quit some fabulous curtain fabrics. Some are thermal and others will require lining. We will be getting these fabrics into the workshop over the next week or so. Pricing will be between $2 -$10 per metre. Will post when it is available and add some better photos. Never had a brand new machine before. It's been a great week with quotes being accepted from all over. The furthest quote accepted today was from a customer in Australia. She has just purchased a rental in Hamilton. Her agent let me into the house so I could do a quick measure. Sent photos of some fabric and blind samples and her quote this morning, this evening an email came back to say go ahead. The bottom picture shows a brand new motel being built.
