Celebrating their one-star status’ for another year are Michael O’Hare’s The Man Behind the Curtain in Leeds and Box Tree, run by husband and wife Simon and Rena Gueller in Ilkley. Since opening in 2014, O’Hare’s often eccentric but tastebud-tingling style has won his city centre restaurant rave reviews.Before Michelin announced its awards yesterday, the chef tweeted: “Got a feeling it’s either 2 or none but would be very content with 1.”It was one star too for the Box Tree, which the Guellers have been running since 2005. Lawrence Yates, head chef, and Simon Gueller, chef patron at Ilkley's Box Tree restaurant which has also retained its Michelin star. The restaurant’s general manager Andrew Pratt was delighted, tweeting: “Well done everyone! Fantastic news on retaining the star.”All six of Yorkshire’s Michelin-starred restaurants retained their stars. The others are the Pipe and Glass Inn in South Dalton, East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire’s Black Swan at Oldstead, Star Inn at Harome and Yorke Arms at Pateley Bridge.Sir Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “Congratulations to all six of Yorkshire’s magnificent restaurants for retaining their Michelin stars.

They really keep Yorkshire on the culinary map for providing first class cuisine.”Meanwhile, celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal celebrated his restaurant The Fat Duck regaining three stars. It lost the trio of stars last year after the venue was relocated to Melbourne, Australia, for 12 months. The rooms are tastefully and comfortably decorated in keeping with the tradition of the village, the countryside and its people.
