High to low rating Low to high rating i noticed people getting frustrated about how to make the rod longer. All you have to do is uncap the ball from the shorter one, put together the 3 rods so the smaller one is in the center, then cap the larger end. Simple if you use your head. Put a support in the middle at the right height so it's sturdy and doesn't wobble. As for my use, I was worried it would look too cheap. I got the black one and it has little lines from the plastic mold edges but up so high and turned at the right angle you can't tell at all. Grommets slide smoothly and it was only 10 bucks. I think it's a winner esp if you're decorating on a budget. If yours is broken upon arrival, it's worth it to simply exchange it for a new one at your next trip to Walmart. I purchased one for my formal dining room and when I put it up it had a beautiful color when our dining room light shined on it. Very flimsy plastic that doesn't stand up to being taken off the rod more than once or twice. Fortunately, we don't need the finials for our install. The rods, however, are perfect, and the hardware is adequate. CidEH- sorry to hear you had these issues. Our products are made of quality materials and are designed to withstand normal handling and shipping. We are glad you are able to use them for your home and appreciate your review. Middle section and one of the end sections are the same diameter, therefore you can't use it to extend 84", only one of ends is tapered, completely useless. I'm not sure how people are extending it to 84" if their package includes the three pieces I received. How do you mess this up? We are sorry for the trouble you had with your item. Here is how you can extend the product to 84": 1) remove the finial from the inner rod. 2) extend the inner rod. 3) add the extra (outer) rod onto the middle/inner rod by sliding the side with the brown cap onto the inner rod.

4) attach your finial onto the end of the 3rd/outer rod you just added (this end has a black plastic fitter inside the rod). This will give you the full 84” coverage. We needed 5 long curtain rods for our kitchen, and we didn't have a great deal of money to spend. I was expecting a much smaller, lower-quality item, based on the price and some of the other reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! These are decent-quality curtain rods with very substantial finials. The finials (balls on the ends) are about 2 inches wide. Although they are made of plastic (as expected, based on reviews and the price), they do look nice. These curtain rods really "finish" a room! I'm going to order more for our master bedroom. Some of the reviewers had difficulty extending the rods. There is a thinner one inside of the main rod. You just take the finials off and pull out the thinner rod from inside to extend it. If you need an even longer one, an extra piece is included, which fits onto the thinner rod to make a very long one for enormous windows.

It really is relatively easy. Glad to hear that you've had such a positive experience with our product! We are excited you are going to add more product to your home. These curtain rods aren't the worst rods I've ever purchased, but they're not great either. They're so much thicker than I expected, and the way the rod extends is a bit strange. It extends on both ends creating a third rod in the middle. It seemed kind of like a good idea at first until I was trying to hang it up and then the balls kept popping of the ends and one side would start to slide down. It was a bit of a disaster, but we got the curtains up. My biggest complaint isn't even with the curtain rods themselves, it's with Walmart. I ordered two rods. They arrived each in their own individual box. That doesn't sound like a big deal until you see the size of the boxes. I almost couldn't fit them in my car. The mailman said he couldn't fit them in his car either and that I'd have to pick them up at the Post Office.
