Quite often I have to sew a certain type of fabric which is less than cooperative! In this photo is picture of a full length Box Pleat drape I have made using a Voile/Sheer fabric which likes to slip slide all around. To stop this from happening in order to get a professional flawless finish, I tack the fabric in place until I complete the pleating and then remove the tacking stitch. Here is a sample of my sewn hems on some black and striped drapes I have made for a client of mine... All of my hems are hand sewn for a flawless finish - No pulling or puckering! The first fabric I have 6.91m, the second 10.5m, the third 5.85m. Obviously not enough to do a living area, but would go nicely in a bedroom which has one small window or could easily do several Roman Blinds. I only charge $20 per meter literally saving hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars for my clients!!!Here is the lounge and master bedroom of a house I renovated. Brown is often considered old-fashioned and boring. However, using a combination of the right shades, you can create a warmth and certain comfort in your home - Inviting!!!
Once again I picked up a James Dunlop fabric at a great price and used it in full length (ceiling to floor) Box Pleated drapes. They boarder the box seat windows beautifully... I also refurbished the foam seat using an apolsery fabric in a shade to match the leaves of the curtains, threw some of my cushions down (custom made feather inners) and wella - A georgous home that is stylish and won't date.....Couture CurtainsHere are samples of my work in my own home. featuring Maurice Kain fabric for my goblet pleated drapes, matching tie-back and Roman Blind. This fabric normally retails for $86 per meter. But of course I picked it up ALOT less than that... - and savings I like to pass onto my clients! Great savings with the fabrics and fringing of my cushions too....And of course I made the window seat cushion as well! These drapes have bumph in them - It gives the drapes that added luxury appeal to them, as well as extra insulation. The drapes feel like a blanket you just want to wrap yourself up in!
