This is the third time we have stayed in the Shangri-La residence - it is perfect for family holidays since the rooms are quiet and there is a private beach and swimming pool which are used infrequently so you feel like you have the place to yourselves. Rooms excellent and very well equipped - and we got a free upgrade to a larger appartment this time. International buffet in hotel is outstanding and both the adults and children love it (excellent selection of dishes and children under 6 eat free and under 12 half price).
Hotel facilities are outstanding and staff are very attentive and friendly. The perfect family hotel which allows some luxury for the parents and a good time for the kids.The best staff ever experiencedWe had a phenomenal stay at this hotel. Since there were 4 girls, we opted for the Shangri-La Residences (2 bedroom apartment). The apartment was modern and spacious. There was a nice balcony where we ate our meals and hung out more than in the living room itself! Everything in the hotel was top of the line, the buffet style breakfast, the main infinity pool as well as the private pools in the Residences. The service was great and if anything was needed the staff was prompt and helpful. We also had a nice time at the Pearls and Caviar lounge located on the property (so much so that we went two nights in a row!). The hotel is conveniently located next door to the Abu Dhabi Souk that not only has great shopping but also several restaurants and bars/nightclubs. The hotel is also a short cabride to the Sheikh Zayed mosque and no more than 15-20 minutes to the Corniche and other areas via taxi depending on traffic.
